This is a great meal any time of day! On those colder mornings, I will choose this for breakfast since it’s more warming and has lots of healthy fats and fiber to keep me fueled all morning. Then, I will have my green smoothie as a post workout meal/snack. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think!
1 packet of organic instant oatmeal
1 tbsp of almond butter
1 tbsp of organic dried cranberries
1 tbsp of organic coconut oil
1 tbsp of ground cinnamon
1 tsp of chia seeds
1/4 cup of boiling water
Mix all ingredients into a bowl or mug and enjoy!
Feel free to add more water as desired. I like mine more chewy than liquid-y (is that a word?). And don’t worry that the coconut oil and almond butter are more solid, when you add the hot water, they will melt and stir beautifully giving you a smooth texture and even taste.
***Do your best to avoid the microwave whenever possible. Boil water in a tea kettle or small saucepan. It takes a little more time, but worth it to keep your cells healthy and strong!
